General Information
For financial aid purposes, all summer sessions are combined into one
processing term. To be considered for student aid, including private
educational loans, you must be enrolled on at least a half-time basis,
defined as 6 hours spread over all summer sessions (May, Summer I and
Summer II).
The summer is considered the end of the academic year, so to be
considered for federal financial aid for summer, you must have a current
year FAFSA on file. The 2007 summer sessions require the completion of the
2006-2007 FAFSA. You can check the status of your 2006-2007 FAFSA by
logging onto VIP, choosing
"Financial" and then choosing "Financial Aid Application
Status."
In addition to the 2006-2007 FAFSA, a USC
Financial Aid Summer
Application for 2006-2007 is required. The application is
available on VIP beginning April 1, 2007.
The deadline to complete the application is May 1, 2007. This deadline is strictly enforced.
Because of compressed time frames for summer, our Office must adhere to
strict application deadlines.
