General Information
For financial aid purposes, all summer sessions are combined into one
processing term. To be considered for student aid, including private
educational loans, you must be enrolled on at least a half-time basis,
defined as 6 hours spread over all summer sessions (May, Summer I and
Summer II).
The summer is considered the end of the academic year, so to be
considered for federal financial aid for summer, you must have a current
year FAFSA on file. The 2009 summer sessions require the completion of the
2008-2009 FAFSA. You can check the status of your 2008-2009 FAFSA by
logging onto VIP, choosing
"Financial" and then choosing "Financial Aid Application
Status."
In addition to the 2008-2009 FAFSA, a USC
Financial Aid Summer Application for
2008-2009 is required. The application is
available on VIP beginning April 1, 2009.
The deadline to complete the application is May 1, 2009. This deadline is strictly enforced.
Because of compressed time frames for summer, our Office must adhere to
strict application deadlines.
