If for example, three mechanics were working on the above described hydraulic lift, each mechanic is required to place their lock and tag on the hydraulic motor and on the conveyor electrical disconnect.
A piece of equipment called a "multi-lock hasp" can be used to accommodate all the locks. A multi-lock hasp is attached to the electrical disconnect, then each mechanic's lock is attached to the hasp. When each mechanic is finished with their specific work on the piece of equipment, they can remove their lock/tag and the other mechanic's locks/tags will remain on the disconnects.
The last mechanic working at the machine would remove their lock, tag, multi-lock hasp and follow the established start-up procedures.
