Introduction to Rehabilitation Counseling
CLASS SESSION BEGINS: Thursday, August 21, 2014
General Information: All students must be present, either in person or online, for the class sessions on Tuesday, 5:00 – 7:29 p.m. Students may attend class in-person at Medical Park 15, Room B17 or participate in classes live via the Internet.
On-Campus Sessions/Orientation Information:
Students enrolled in counseling courses are required to attend additional days of the semester for the in-person counseling skills assessment. Days and times will be determined by professor. Students enrolled in other rehabilitation classes are required to attend in-person session(s) on Distance Education Weekend in Fall and Spring semesters and other lab time as designated by the professor.
Online Session Information:
Course will be delivered by Web conferencing utilizing Adobe Connect. For students viewing the class live online, the Adobe Connect URL will be posted in Blackboard by the instructor prior to the first class meeting. To facilitate in-class communication when using Adobe Connect, all students will be required to have a working microphone. Students must have access to a high-speed Internet connection. More information will be provided by the instructor in the course syllabus.
Course Delivery Type: Over 50% Web Delivery: A Web course is taught using one or more web delivery platforms such as Blackboard, Streaming Video, Adobe Connect etc.

Graduate Bulletin Course Description: Origin, evolution, and future of the rehabilitation counseling profession. Role and functions, scope of practice, and practice settings of rehabilitation counselors.
