TRADITIONAL Meal Plans

  In order to meet your campus dining needs, we have designed the following meal plans for the 2009--2010  

  academic year. If you need to purchase a meal plan or if you would like to make a change to the plan you already

  have; or log into www.vip.sc.edu, click on the financial tab for the Carolina Card button.  That will lead you to a  

  menu of options, or call the One Card office at 803.777.1708.

2009-2010 Meal Plan Prices (per semester)
  • 21   Meal Plan  (Plan A)........................$1,333 - 21 Meals per week
  • 16+ Meal Plan  (Plan E) ........................$1,355 - 16 Meals per week and $100 Meal Plan Dollars
  • 14  Meal Plan   (Plan B) ................... ....$1,242 - 14 Meals per week (required for Bates Residents)
  • 10  Meal Plan   (Plan C) .................... ...$1,139 - 10 Meals per week (required for resident Freshmen)
  •  5  Meal Plan    (Plan D)  .......................$   689 -   5 Meals per week

Meal Plan HOURS

Breakfast 3:00 a.m -10:59 a.m  

Lunch 11:00 a.m - 3:59 p.m

Dinner 4:00 p.m -  2:00 a.m.

  Prestons Meal Plan
   Residents of Preston College are required to have meal plans. Freshmen are required to have a minimum of a 10

   meal plan, all other residents are required a minimum of a 4 meal plan. Monday thru Thursday, Preston residents 

   are required to have dinner together in the Preston Dining Room.

   2009-2010 Preston's Meal Plan Prices

  • 21   Meal Plan   $1,587              21  Meals per week
  • 16+ Meal Plan   $1,621             16+ Meals per week and $100 Meal Plan Dollars
  • 14   Meal Plan   $1,498             14   Meals per week (required for Bates Residents)
  • 10   Meal Plan   $1,408              10  Meals per week (required for resident Freshmen)
  •   4   Meal Plan   $   619                4  Meals per week

  CAROLINA CASH
  Carolina Cash is a pre-paid debit account on your Carolina Card. It is available to use at all Dining Facilities and

  many other services across campus.  The amount you deposit into this account is set up for you to use. Each

  time a purchase is made that amount is deducted from your balance.  With a Meal Plan and your Carolina Card

  you have the freedom to dine at one of our many find Dining locations across the USC Campus!.

  Retail Credit
   The Retail Credit is a set amount given to meal plan holders to spend at the retail dining locations. If your 

   selections total more than the set amount, the difference is made up with Bonus Bucks, Carolina Cash,

   or Cash. The Retal Credit cannot be used at West Quad Market or Marble Slab.  The credit amounts are: 

Breakfast: $4.45  •    Lunch: $5.75  •    Dinner: $6.15

  Bonus Bucks
   Carolina Dining Services adds additional free bonus bucks when you purchase a 10 meal plan or higher. Bonus  

   Bucks can be used at any Carolina Dining Facility (except West Quad Market) to purchase snacks or meals that

   exceed the meal credit allowance.

  • Freshmen: $20  |   Sophomores: $100  |   Juniors: $150  |   Seniors: $200  |   Graduates: $200

  COMMUTER DINING PLANS

  • 160 Meal Plan ......................................................................   $1,197— 160 Meals per semester
  • 185 Meal Plan .........................................................................$1,252— 185 Meals per semester

  Students may purchase block dining plans that are not limited to a specific meal time period.  This means you

  can  buy a meal at anytime regardless of the time of day.

  Exemptions:  For meal plan exemption due to medical issues, one of the following documents will be required:

     (1) a physician's excuse or (2) an excuse from the campus dietician. 

  We strongly encourage a nutrition consultation with the campus dietician to help you identify campus meal 

  options that will meet your specialized needs.
