Luanne Lawrence joined the University of South Carolina in 2010 as the vice president for Communications, a new position at the University that oversees media relations, internal communications, marketing, creative services, Web communications and government relations. Luanne joined USC after serving six years at Oregon State University as the vice president for University Advancement.
In those years, she earned numerous recognitions including the 2010 CASE social and interactive media national award. She has also served in public relations and marketing positions at the University of Maine, University of Baltimore, Lock Haven University (Pennsylvania) and the Pennsylvania State University at Harrisburg.
Luanne most enjoys her work in strategic communications planning, interactive media and using a variety of communications tools to solve pressing problems. A Pennsylvania native, she holds an M.Ed. from Penn State and a B.S. in speech communications from Millersville University (Pennsylvania).
