Laura Day is a South Carolina native. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art Studio with a concentration in drawing and painting from the University of South Carolina.

Laura previously worked as creative director in student media from 1989 to 1998. She loved working with the students on the Gamecock student newspaper, designing promotional material for student life and purchasing the first Macs for the department. She served as art director for the monthly Lake Murray/Columbia magazine for 10 years, then was a freelance book cover designer for Amazon.

Laura spends some of her spare time painting in her small studio, but the weight room is one of her favorite places. She was middleweight state champion in the S.C. bodybuilding championships in the 1990's and won a bench press competition lifting 175 lbs. when she weighed only 120 lbs. She comes from a very strong family, strong physically and with strong family ties.

She and her husband are most proud of their two sons, who are also talented artists and athletes.
