Employer Eligibility Policy to Use Career Center Services

Job Fair Policies

Tobacco Policy:   Employers please be aware that beginning January 1, 2014, the University of South Carolina is tobacco free. Please review the University policy at for additional details about Tobacco Free USC.

Refund/Cancellation Policy: There is no registration fee for employers who are located on campus. All other payments must be received no later than two (2) weeks prior to the career event. If an employer has not paid in full and/or cancels less than two (2) weeks prior to the event, the organization will be held responsible for the payment. Future registrations for career events will not be allowed until the balance is paid. Please limit to two recruiters per table. To assist the Career Center in appropriately planning for space, materials, and refreshments, all cancellations must be provided in writing by email to by August 3, 2016. If an employer registers on or after the two-week period prior to the event, all payments must be paid in full at the time of registration. No refunds will be issued after August 3, 2016.

Employer Benefits:

  • A 6' x 2.5' covered table and 2 chairs
  • One (1) parking pass for Bull Street Garage
  • Light snacks and beverages
  • Wireless access

Exhibit Parameters:  All exhibits must be limited to the size of the 6' x 2.5' table. No vehicles or animals are allowed at the fair.  All items for your display must be able to fit onto or behind your table.  This will ensure that all employers have adequate space and students can navigate the fair in an efficient manner. If you are bringing printed materials, please bring 10 copies of enlarged print. 

Please note: If the number of employers attending the job fair exceeds ballroom capacity, we may ask that you share a table.  You will be notified prior to the event if this need arises.

Parking Options:  Employers may drop off at the entrance of the Bull Street Garage.  Each registered off-campus employer will be allowed one parking spot in the designed event block in Bull Street Garage.  While the Career Center has reserved parking for our off-campus employers, we cannot guarantee that a spot will be available.  We strongly suggest that you bring pocket change should you need to park in a metered spot on Bull Street (1 quarter = 20 minutes).

Steps to Register:

  1. Create an account in Handshake, our online recruiting system.
  2. If you are a new employer or contact, your Handshake profile will be reviewed and approved. Your profile will be approved within 72 hours.
  3. Once you are approved, click on the "Fairs" link on the left bar of your Handshake homepage to register.
