HOUSING

Meet fascinating people. Make new friends. Expand your perspectives. Enjoy beautiful locations and comfortable spaces while you learn. Plug into the Carolina community.

Your Key to Success

Because the residential experience is so important to your positive educational outcome and overall satisfaction, USC requires freshmen to live on campus. The closeness, convenience and access to resources make it one of the smartest adventures you'll ever love.

Exciting Choices, Excellent Services

Living options range from coed and female-only to suite-style, apartment-style or traditional residence halls designed as Freshman Centers with study rooms, kitchens, laundry facilities and computer labs. You have environmentally friendly choices, too. The newest honors residence hall and the West Quad, known as our "green dorm," meet certification standards for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and offer ways to practice energy and water conservation, as well as a green café.

Outstanding Support

As a first-year student, you'll benefit from our residence hall Academic Centers for Excellence that provide academic skills training, computer support services and career guidance. And you'll want to take advantage of USC's Student Success Initiative to get one-on-one peer mentoring from our resident advisors. Our professional residence life staff members live in the halls and stand ready to offer support, advice, a gentle nudge and a listening ear whenever you need it.

Learning Communities

Go all in on your education and join your like-minded peers when you choose to live in a residence hall learning community, such as pre-med, international, engineering and technology, pre-law, music, and more. You'll be able to support each other in study groups and shared classes while gaining access to specialized academic support services.

Fraternity and Sorority Life

Twenty fraternities and sororities maintain beautiful chapter homes in our Greek Village. Other Carolina Greek organizations can be found throughout our residence halls.

10 Meals-per-week plan for on-campus freshmen

Your personal Carolina Card can be used at dining spots all across campus to "pay" for your food in plans that range from four to 21 meals per week.
