More than 95% of our fall freshman class received some form of financial aid; and notably, one-third received a merit-based University scholarship. Recently, Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine named the University of South Carolina as one of the “100 Best Values in Public Education.” That’s not the only list you’ll find us on— U.S. News & World Report ranks the University of South Carolina as one of the best national public institutions.
Students who are recognized as a National Merit Finalists, National Achievement Finalists, National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars are eligible to receive the Lieber Scholarship, worth $10,000 annually for in-state students and $6,000 for out-of-state students. State Scholarship Programs (South Carolina residents only)
The state of South Carolina offers financial assistance to a majority of South Carolina residents who enroll at USC, ranging in financial value from $2,800-$6,700. The Palmetto Fellows Scholarship, the LIFE Scholarship, and the HOPE Scholarship are awarded to South Carolina residents who meet certain eligibility requirements.
