Step 1: Information Session
Information Sessions are scheduled on an individual basis during the summer. If you need to sign up for a summer Information Session, please contact our office by phone at 803-777-7557.
Before meeting individually with an advisor, all students will first attend an Information Session in the Study Abroad Office.
These are led by our Peer Advisors and are capped at eight students so that each attendee
may have all of their general questions answered. Information sessions are held Monday – Friday during the semester and last 30-45 minutes.
*Peace Corps Prep Information Sessions: Students interested in PC Prep can request an additional information session specific to that program. They are held Monday at 11:30am and Friday at 3pm. Attendance for a PC Prep Info Session must be reserved by phone at 803-777-7557. Please note, attending a PC Prep Info Session does not count towards regular Info Session attendance.
Step 2: Individual Appointment
After attending an Information Session, students may meet with our advisors. When meeting with an advisor students must bring a printed copy of the SAO Advising Sheet.
Individual appointments are 30 minutes long and are for any student who wishes to speak with an advisor about more specific details regarding their study abroad plans. Individual appointments must be scheduled at least one day prior to meeting.
Walk-in appointments are for students who wish to speak with an advisor for no more 15-20 minutes. Wait times to meet with an advisor may be longer during Walk-in Hours than when an appointment is scheduled ahead of time. The Summer 2017 Walk-In Hours are Tuesday–Thursday from 1:00pm–3:00pm.
*Students seeking a petition must attend an initial 30 minute appointment with an advisor prior to attending walk-in hours.
