Physical Activity and Exercise

Being active can help improve your mood, energy level and overall health. We offer assessments and can help you find ways to get more physical activity in your daily routine.

Free Fitness Assessments

We offer free fitness assessments for students by appointment.

Body Fat Percentage Measurement

We'll calculate your body fat percentage based on your age, gender, weight and measurements with calipers. This measurement is more accurate than the handheld BIA method.

Drop-In Appointment
Drop in any time during business hours for a body fat analysis.

Length of Appointment
About 15 minutes

Fitness Assessments

We'll test your blood pressure, heart rate, body fat percentage, cardiovascular fitness, muscle endurance and flexibility. After your tests, a trained staff member will go over your results and give you recommendations.

Drop-In Appointments
Drop in any time during business hours for blood pressure checks and body fat analysis. Make an appointment for other types of fitness assessments.

Be Well Coaching

Get help with a personalized physical activity plan from one of our Be Well coaches. Your coaching sessions will be judgement free and give you encouragement through obstacles. Your Be Well coach can also help you  with other wellness areas such as balanced eating, sexual health, stress management and tobacco treatment.

Making an Appointment

Call us at 803-777-8283 or stop by the Wellness & Prevention office on the first floor of the Center for Health and Well-Being to schedule your appointment.

No-Show Fees
You'll be charged a $15 no-show fee if you make an appointment and do not keep it. Avoid a fee by canceling or rescheduling at least 24 hours before your appointment.

 

Exercise Around Campus

You can squeeze exercise into your routine around campus, even if you don't have time to go the Strom Fitness Center or the Blatt P.E. Center.
