Parents and Guests

If you are a significant person in the life of a USC student, then we invite you to join us for a special orientation. We will offer you a glimpse of what life on our campus will be like for your student and a chance to meet some of the people who will be influencing their success in the years ahead.

Register for New Student Orientation

The session your student will attend is chosen for them based on several factors, like their starting term or admission status. Find out more about how this is determined and how to register. Registration is the student's responsibility. Find your orientation »

Although it is not mandatory, we highly encourage each student to have at least one representative attend this customized orientation session. Your support has a significant impact on your student and on our university community.

At Orientation You Will:

  • meet with academic deans or advisers to discuss your student’s major or program of study.
  • be introduced to academic policies and support resources.
  • receive information on a variety of services and ways students can get involved at the university.
  • ask questions of current students, staff and administrators.
  • interact with other parents and loved ones of new students.
  • learn about and join the Parents Association.
