MLK Days of Service

Each year we celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through a series of events held throughout the month of January. Join hands with your Carolina community to honor Dr. King’s life and to work together to help others.

Annual MLK Events

Each year, we remember the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a slate of annual events plus special seminars and other learning experiences that continue to spead his vision and work. Check back for full details and event sign up toward the end of the fall semester.

MLK, Jr. Day of Service

Honor the work and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on our Annual Day of Service. Join thousands of volunteers throughout the country who will serve others in their community on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Check-in is on Davis Field (by the reflection pool in front of Thomas Cooper Library).

5th Annual MLK Food Drive

Our annual food drive helps fill the Gamecock Pantry, a campus food pantry created for students, by students to serve the UofSC community with food assistance and resources for wellbeing. Donations can be dropped off throughout the month at service and campus events. The food drive ends on Wednesday, January 31, 2018.

King Day at the Dome Rally

The university joins the SC NAACP and the Columbia community for the annual King Day at the Dome Rally. The day begins with a morning march to the SC State House where you'll join others for the King Day at the Dome Rally.
