This year’s Administrative Professionals Conference will be Friday, April 27, 2018.

Training and Professional Development Resources
Training classes are offered to employees at every level in the organization. With
everything from delegation skills to managing your retirement, there is a broad range

Whether you’d like to enrich yourself with literary classics such as Mark Twain’s

Personal Development Classes
Being happy and healthy, both personally and professionally is essential to your success.
We offer many classes that cover a variety of topics to help you achieve a balanced
and healthy lifestyle.
Business Manager Certificate Program
Offered through the Purchasing Department, this certificate program is dedicated to
helping business managers and other university staff associated with departmental
business processes to better understand the procurement code, university policies
and procedures and how to use the purchasing tools currently available.
Management Development Program (LEAD)
Mandatory for all staff hired into a supervisory position after January 1, 2010, the
LEAD series is a two-track management development program designed to assist university
employees in enhancing their knowledge, skills and abilities to lead people and get
results. It also serves as a vehicle to prepare employees for career advancement.
Leadership Development Programs
Each year, a group of individuals are selected to participate in one of two leadership
development programs. Participants go through 40-50 hours of targeted professional
development activities which are focused on President Pastides’ five leadership competencies.
Organizational Development Services
Organizational Developments Services are a valuable resource for employees and managers
to enhance individual performance or group performance. Services are offered on three
levels: individual services, group/team services and organizational services.
Process Improvement (Lean)
Employees and managers from across the system are using Lean methods and tools to
make processes simpler, faster and better. Learn how our team of trained professionals
can help you understand your workflow, eliminate inefficiencies and ensure effectiveness.
Individual Development Plan (IDP)
Take a more organized approach to professional development by creating an Individual
Development Plan. Employees and managers are encouraged to work together to set short
and long-term goals, determine what activities, training and experiences will help
achieve those goals, and then create a plan of action to achieve them.
