Top Scholars are also exceeding our expectations as campus and community leaders. Your support helps students compete for prestigious national fellowships and provides enrichment activities for Top Scholars.
Since our office was established in 1994, university students have won over 1,200 national awards totaling more than $38 million. National fellowship winners and Top Scholars have gone on to become national leaders, groundbreaking researchers and innovative problem-solvers.
Our goal is to prevent financial limits from discouraging USC students in their pursuit of these life-changing opportunities. Your support can have a monumental impact on the academic success of some of our brightest students at the University of South Carolina. Faculty and staff may designate their annual Family Fund gift to support either fund noted below.

A donation will assist USC's national fellowship finalists and scholars with expenses such as clothing and activities to prepare for national interviews; travel to interviews, meet with faculty and to secure housing; and initial startup costs and living expenses during their fellowship period.
Carolina Scholar Award: Established as the first scholar undergraduate program in 1969, the Carolina Scholars program celebrates the virtues of a world-class education and encourages the state’s most academically talented students to attend college in South Carolina. Donors can support participating students through tuition assistance and an enhanced university experience that includes special events, programming and priority freshman housing. Stamps Scholar Enrichment Funds: The Stamps Scholar Program is one of the most prestigious at the university, and through this fund, donors can support academic enrichment opportunities for these top scholars. All gifts will be matched by the Stamps Scholars Foundation. Carolina and McNair Scholars Support Fund: Your support will provide special programs, speakers and activities for the Top Scholar community to enhance their undergraduate experience at Carolina.
