Adventures in Vex Robotics

Learn how robots think, sense, and function before designing and building one using the Vex™ Robotics Design System. Gain insight about the history of robots, how they are used now, and how they will be used in the future, as well as engineering concepts, electronics, sensors, and control subsystems from an instructor at College of Engineering. You'll learn about the different engineering disciplines and what it takes to be an engineer.

If you have an interest in robots and are wondering if engineering might be in your future, then this class is for you! Round out your adventure in a robot demonstration by competing against other robot teams.

No experience in robots is necessary.

  • June 4 - 9 for Rising 6 - 9 grade students

Choose from:

  • Commuting Scholar - $575
  • Commuting Scholar Plus Evening - $665
  • Residential Scholar - $975

Plus $25 lab fee.

David Metts

David Metts works in the Electrical Engineering Department of the College of Engineering and Computing at the University of South Carolina. He is the director of undergraduate labs and develops experiments and projects that enhance the undergraduate lab experience.
