Who should take this course?
Students generally take the ACT during their junior year of high school. This course is ideal for current juniors and seniors, currently in high school who may be taking the test for the first time and for those high school students who have already taken the exam but wish to improve their scores.
This ACT weekend course is ideal for students that need an intensive preparation program during the school year who wish to develop essential test-taking tools. Students are expected to actively participate in class.
About the Course
Our expert instructors guide you through each section of ACT exam and provide personal attention in and out of the classroom. Learn useful study and test-taking strategies and time management skills to help limit test anxiety.
This affordable and comprehensive course is offered on the USC Columbia campus on Sundays afternoons or Saturday mornings. This once a week course is delivered over four weekends and requires students to continue to practice their skills during the week, leading to greater opportunities for learning and interaction with our expert instructors.
Our comprehensive program emphasizes the ACT test components including test taking strategies, question formats, process of elimination, math, reading, and writing and language. Students receive in-depth review of the exam materials, insight into strategies for succeeding on standardized tests, and a comprehensive study plan. Class sessions use real test questions to show just how these skills are tested. The course fee includes all classroom instruction and course materials.

Our ACT Prep courses will help take the mystery out of the exam and maximize your ACT score. Courses includes topics covering required test concepts, including:
Session 1 — Introduction to the ACT, English-punctuation and verbs; Math-picking numbers and advanced
Session 2 — English-pronouns, clauses and phrases, logical transitions; Math-equations and inequalities, exponents.
Session 3 — English-items with special instructions; Math-fractions and probability, word problems, averages and percents.
Session 4 — Reading comprehension; Math-rates and proportions, geometry lines, angles and triangles.
Session 5 — Science reasoning-data representation; Math-polygons, circles and combinations.
Session 6 — Science reason- research summary and conflicting viewpoints; Writing; Math-coordinate geometry and functions, trigonometry.
