Wilderness First Aid
Learn how to handle outdoor emergency situations in this two-day Wilderness First Aid certification course, SOLO Southeast’s most popular class. You will learn how to stabilize emergencies, dress exposed wounds, treat weather exposure and practice other common survival skills. Like all SOLO courses, students learn both in a classroom setting and through structured scenarios. WFA is a two-year certification that does not include CPR.
Completion of this WFA course will also recertify a soon-to-expire WFR or AWFA qualification.
Advanced Wilderness First Aid
This intensive four-day course provides in-depth information on medical and environmental emergencies alongside hands-on practice of backcountry first aid skills. With an emphasis on leadership, students learn to confidently take control of medical situations. Over four days, students learn patient assessment, injury management, and other necessary outdoor skills.
This course includes American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) CPR and AED certification. Both certifications are valid for two years.
Wilderness First Responder
SOLO Southeast's WFR course is the recognized industry standard for backcountry leaders. With an emphasis on leaderships, accident prevention and crisis decision-making, this 72-hour course prepares students to manage emergencies. Students get hands-on-training with our elite teaching team and gain practical skills through intense simulated scenarios. This is a three-year certification with CPR included.
Current WFRs can earn a certification with a two-day recertification course and current AWFAs can upgrade to a WFR certification with a five-day bridge course.
